KidoChat

Messaging for kids, with their grown-ups in the loop.

KidoChat is a chat app for children. Kids talk with friends their parents have approved, and parents can see every message. It is built by a parent and child, and is currently being tested by family and friends on iPhone and Android.

Parents approve every friend

A chat opens only after both families say yes. Adults who want to talk with a child need that child's parent to agree.

Unkind messages wait

Messages between kids are checked before they arrive. Anything insulting, aggressive, rude or leaving someone out is held for a parent to look at.

No photos between kids

Kids send each other text and emoji. Pictures, videos and voice notes go only to their own parents.

Quiet hours and SOS

Parents set quiet hours for each child. One SOS button sends a child's parents an alert with their location.

Get the app

Android

  1. On the phone, tap Download KidoChat for Android.
  2. Open the downloaded file. If the phone asks, allow installing apps from your browser.
  3. Open KidoChat and tap I'm a grown-up to create a grown-up account.

A test version, not yet in Google Play.

iPhone

  1. Install TestFlight from the App Store (Apple's app for trying apps before they're released).
  2. Write to kidochat@atanyco.com and we'll send you an invitation link.
  3. Open the link on the iPhone, tap Accept, then Install.
  4. Open KidoChat and tap I'm a grown-up to create a grown-up account.

A test version, not yet in the App Store.

Kids don't sign up themselves: a grown-up adds each child inside their own account, then sets up the child's phone or tablet with a short code from the app. Kids have no password.

Privacy
