Terms of use

These terms are between you and the people who make KidoChat. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.

Who can use KidoChat

• Grown-ups (18 or older) create their own accounts.
• A child's account can only be made by a parent or legal guardian, inside the parent's own account. The parent agrees to these terms for the child and is responsible for the child's use of the app.
• A parent only adds a child they are the parent or guardian of, and only asks to join a child as a second parent if they are one.

Your account

• Keep your password, and your child's secret code, to yourselves.
• Use names that aren't misleading or offensive.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app, under My profile. A parent can delete a child's account on the child's page.

What is not allowed

• Bullying, threats, harassment, hate, or anything sexual, in any chat.
• Pretending to be someone else, or using KidoChat to contact children you aren't approved to talk to.
• Sharing anything you don't have the right to share, or anything illegal.
• Trying to get around the approvals, the message filter or the app's security.

Anyone can report a message by pressing and holding it. We may remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, and we report child safety concerns to the authorities when the law requires it.

The safety features have limits

Parent approvals, the automatic message filter and the parent log help keep chats kind and safe, but no filter is perfect: it can miss a message or hold one that was fine. Parents remain responsible for supervising their children's use of the app.

The service

• KidoChat is provided as it is, free of charge, and may change or stop. We will try to give notice before removing important features or closing the service.
• To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for what other people send.

Changes and contact
